Motorola is going thin — really thin. The company just introduced the Moto X70 Air, a phone that measures roughly 6 mm thick yet somehow fits a 4,800 mAh battery inside. It’s the kind of engineering that instantly grabs attention in a market where most flagships hover around 8–9 mm.
According to Android Central, Motorola is using silicon-carbon battery tech, which offers higher energy density than standard lithium cells. That likely explains how this phone stays so slim without sacrificing battery life.
More than just a pretty design
Under the hood, the Moto X70 Air isn’t just about looks. Leaks cited by Cinco Días / El País suggest it’ll pack up to 12 GB of RAM, 512 GB of storage, and a 6.67-inch P-OLED screen running at 120 Hz.
The rear setup reportedly includes two 50 MP cameras with optical image stabilization, while charging hits 68 W wired and 15 W wireless. The only mystery left is the processor — some sources point to Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 7 Gen 4, others hint at the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5.

Coming soon worldwide
Motorola plans to launch the X70 Air in China first, followed by a global rollout under the name Motorola Edge 70. The reveal date is set for November 5, 2025, according to Cinco Días.
This “dual identity” approach isn’t new — Motorola used the same strategy with the Edge 50 Ultra earlier this year, offering identical specs under regional names.
Why it’s catching attention
A phone this thin, with that much battery, naturally raises eyebrows. It’s a category few brands have nailed — and if Motorola can keep performance and battery life solid, it could outshine rivals. As Android Authority puts it, this might be the thinnest phone to actually last all day.
That would make it a real rival to the upcoming iPhone Air and Galaxy S25 Edge, both aiming to blend slim designs with premium performance.
