Honor just teased a futuristic “Robot Phone” that literally moves — with a fold-out camera arm that acts like a tiny robot. The full reveal is planned for March 2026 at Mobile World Congress.
Honor just showed off something completely different — a concept smartphone it’s calling the Robot Phone. In a short teaser video, the phone looks normal at first, but then the rear camera lifts and extends on a small robotic arm. It moves, turns, and even follows people around like it has a mind of its own.
It’s a completely different approach from the usual “more megapixels and AI filters” trend. Here, Honor seems to be exploring how a phone could interact with you rather than just react to taps and swipes.
What makes this concept stand out
The big talking point is that motorized gimbal camera arm. Unlike normal cameras that stay fixed in one position, this one can move freely. That could mean steadier videos, creative shooting angles, and better subject tracking — think mini tripod or cameraman built right into your phone.
Since the main camera can rotate forward, it might even double as the selfie camera. That means higher-quality photos and more natural video calls without the usual front-camera limitations.
